Shank Replacement – DIY
Restore original performance without replacing the entire shank. The RB1 and RTP Shank Replacements are purpose-designed Yeomans components that allow worn shanks to be rebuilt rather than replaced, extending shank life and reducing long-term operating costs. Both systems are engineered to maintain the original Yeomans shank profile, preserving correct point alignment, soil entry angle, and minimum-disturbance cultivation performance.
If you’re handy in the workshop, this is another example how Yeomans Plows are the most cost effective to own.
Shear Pins
The Yeomans Shear Pin is a simple, sacrificial safety component designed to protect Yeomans shanks and plow frames when encountering immovable obstructions such as large stumps or rocks.
Unlike many of our competitor's shear pins which are machined, the Yeomans Shear Pin is inexpensive to purchase and simple to change in the field.
When a large obstruction is struck, the shear pin breaks, allowing the shank to swing back rather than transferring damaging loads into the plow frame. Replacement is quick and straightforward, allowing work to resume within minutes.
Shanks – Fixed
Yeomans shanks are the core working component of every Yeomans plow, responsible for opening the soil profile with minimal surface disturbance while supporting a wide range of points, blades and attachments.
Yeomans shanks are designed to suit a wide variety of cultivation tasks, from pasture renovation and cropping through to orchards, vineyards and sugar cane cultivation.
Because shanks are clamped rather than permanently fixed:
- Shank spacing can be altered to suit different crops and conditions
- Individual shanks can be replaced without cutting or welding
- Frames can be reconfigured over time rather than replaced
This modular approach is used across Yeomans three‑point linkage, trailing and folding wing plows.
Shanks – Stump Jump
The Stump Jump shank is a core component of Yeomans Hydraulic Stump Jump Plows. The shank was specifically designed to work in conjunction with the stump jump system for working in rough ground.
Fitted with the Yeomans Stump Jump (White Pointer) points and Stump Jump splitter blades, the components are designed to work together as a system rather than as interchangeable generic parts.
